Chaunté Wayans’ half-hour, LOL Live with Chaunté Wayans, arrived on Hulu in June as part of Hartbeat’s expanded LOL Live slate, reported by Blex Media.
Marriage, religion, dating, sobriety, LGBTQ+ identity, and family recur in her observational stand-up, which draws on personal experience. Wayans has called comedy “a way to start a conversation.” In a 2019 interview with theGrio, she discussed using the stage name New York early on to establish herself apart from the Wayans name.
Her television credits include Wild ’N Out and Chef Worsey on This Fool in 2023. She has appeared on WTF with Marc Maron and toured with Russell Peters, Katt Williams, and David Alan Grier. The current run is billed as the Selective Sin Comedy Tour.
