Comedy Houston is a media company built from inside Houston’s stand-up comedy scene. We aggregate shows, promote comedians, and connect the people who make comedy happen with the audiences who want to see it.
How This Started
Houston has 7 million people and one of the best comedy scenes in the country, and for the longest time there was no central place to find out what was happening. Shows were scattered across Instagram stories, venue websites, Eventbrite pages, and word-of-mouth group chats. Comics couldn’t find audiences. Audiences couldn’t find shows. Everyone was guessing.
We started Comedy Houston because we were already in the scene — performing, producing, going to shows — and we kept thinking: somebody should really build the thing that connects all of this. So we did.
What We Actually Do
At its core, Comedy Houston is a show aggregator. We track every comedy show in the Houston metro — clubs, bars, pop-ups, open mics, touring headliners, independent showcases — and put them in one place so you can find something to go see tonight without checking six different websites.
But we’re also producers, promoters, and marketers who understand how to sell tickets and build audiences. That means we work with touring acts who need Houston promotion, venues who want to add comedy programming, production companies filming in the area, and companies looking to book comedians for private events. The show listings bring people in. The services are how we keep the lights on and the scene growing.

Why We Do This the Way We Do It
We’re not an agency looking at Houston from the outside. We’re comedians and producers who are in the scene. We were at a show last night and we’ll be at one tomorrow. We know which rooms have good sound, which open mics actually develop comics, which audiences show up on a Tuesday, and which promoters treat their talent right.
That matters because comedy marketing isn’t the same as restaurant marketing or concert marketing. The audiences are different. The economics are different. The relationships are different. You need someone who understands comedy from the inside to promote it effectively — not someone who’s going to treat your 80-seat showcase the same way they’d treat a brunch spot’s Instagram.
We also believe that what’s good for the scene is good for business. When more people attend comedy in Houston, everyone benefits — venues, comedians, promoters, and us. So even the free stuff we do (the show listings, the blog, the social coverage) feeds the same ecosystem that our paid services operate in. It’s not charity. It’s infrastructure.
