“I’m a stand-up comedian, I’m a social media influencer, I’m a hybrid.” On the August 1 episode of the What’s Funny Today Show, D’Lai drew a clean distinction: a comedian has stood before people waiting to hear jokes.
D’Lai performs Thursday, October 29 at Punch Line Houston. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. The Alexandria, Louisiana, comic works from personal experience, with quick-hit humor and social-media sketches in the mix.
His 2018 That’s Funny episode sits alongside credits including BET’s ComicView, Who’s Got Jokes?, and a December 2017 episode of All Def Comedy with Alex Babbitt, Daphnique Springs, and Nate Jackson. His “I Beg Your Pardon” tour ran through Chicago, Atlanta, and Nashville in August and September.
On the August 27 episode of The Jamal Bryant Podcast “Let’s Be Clear”, he discussed poverty, sleeping in his car, and gambling addiction.
