On The Joe Rogan Experience #2522 in July 2026, Tony Hinchcliffe discussed the backlash to his George Floyd joke from The Roast of Kevin Hart. “I’m going to go for it,” he said.
Hinchcliffe grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and graduated from Ursuline High School in 2003. A December 2007 Vindicator profile found him in Los Angeles, working restaurant jobs and getting onstage at open mics. He later worked at The Comedy Store and wrote for Comedy Central’s The Burn with Jeff Ross and roast episodes involving James Franco, Justin Bieber, and Rob Lowe.
His solo specials include Netflix’s 2016 release One Shot and 2021’s Making Friends, uploaded to YouTube. Netflix released Kill Tony: Kill or Be Killed in April 2025, followed by the solo special Man of the People in June 2026.
He is closely associated with Kill Tony, the touring podcast where aspiring comics perform one-minute sets before improvised interviews and critiques from Hinchcliffe and a guest panel. He has called it “the most spontaneous and improvised show that is out there.”
