The Den Comedy Club Houston: Shows, Tickets and Info

den comedy club houston

The Den Comedy Club is Houston’s speakeasy comedy room: a hidden stand-up club on the second floor of Wolfsmiths, the cafe and cocktail bar at 201 Woodard St in Lindale Park, one neighborhood over from the Heights. There is no sign outside. You walk into Wolfsmiths, look for the white orchids, and slip into a room built with wood accents, soft lighting, and seats close enough that every show feels like a private set.

The club opened in March 2026 and is owned by two working Houston comedians, Janan Araujo-Siam and Onkar Singh, which shapes everything about it. Lineups are curated showcases of the city’s best working comics with touring guests mixed in: the kind of bill a comic books to impress other comics, performed for a crowd that found the room on purpose. The space is small enough that shows regularly sell out on word of mouth alone.

The Den vs. Houston Improv vs. Punch Line: which club for which night?

The Houston Improv is the national-headliner room: names you know from Netflix playing multi-night weekend runs at the Marq*E center on the Katy Freeway, with big-club pricing and the standard two-item minimum. Punch Line Houston is the classic club in the middle: strong touring headliners, 18 and up, two-beverage minimum per person. Both are reliable nights out, and if the goal is seeing someone you already know from TV, that is where they will be.

The Den is the other kind of great night. You may not recognize the names on the lineup yet, and that is the point. This is where Houston’s best working comics do their sharpest sets in a room small enough to hear the table next to you lose it. Tickets usually cost less than parking near the big clubs, and the intimacy does the rest. Ask a Houston comic where they would take a date to watch stand-up and The Den comes up more often than any room its size should.

Food and drinks: Wolfsmiths downstairs, and no drink minimum

Because The Den lives upstairs from Wolfsmiths, you get real food and real cocktails with table service during the show: a full menu from the kitchen, drinks built by the house mixologist, plus wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options. Unlike the big clubs, The Den does not lean on a drink minimum. Order because the cocktails are good, not because the fine print says two items. Come early, eat downstairs, then head up for the show.

The Den Comedy Club: questions people actually ask

Where is The Den Comedy Club, and how do I find the entrance?

The Den is at 201 Woodard St, Houston, TX 77009, on the second floor of Wolfsmiths in Lindale Park, just east of the Heights. There is no sign and no separate door. Walk into Wolfsmiths like you are there for a drink, find the white orchids, and follow them to the stairs. First-timers routinely stand on the sidewalk checking the address. You are in the right place.

What nights are shows, and what time do they start?

The club runs shows every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The regular showcases start at 7:30 pm on Thursday, 9 pm on Friday and 8 pm on Saturday, with touring headliner shows added on other dates. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Seating is tight and the room settles fast, so arriving when doors open is the move, not ten minutes after the first comic is already up.

How much are tickets at The Den?

General admission for the Thursday showcase starts around $19 and Friday and Saturday around $27 before Eventbrite fees. Touring headliner shows usually land between $25 and $37. If you see a much bigger number on a listing, that is a table package for a whole group, not the price of one seat. Every date below shows the current price and links straight to the ticket page.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Book ahead. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite and weekend shows at this room sell out regularly, sometimes days out. If a show still has seats on the night, the club can sell them at the door, but do not plan a Saturday around that. Check the listing below; if it still has a ticket link, it is still on sale.

Is there a drink minimum?

No. The Den does not run the two-item minimum you will find at the Improv or Punch Line. Wolfsmiths handles food and drinks with table service during the show, so you order what you want, when you want it, and nothing more.

Is The Den all ages or 21 and up?

The club has not published a blanket age rule, and the room sits inside a cocktail bar with adult stand-up on stage. Treat it as a grown-ups’ night unless the specific show says otherwise. The age line on each Eventbrite listing is the final word, and the club answers questions at hello@thedencomedyclub.com.

Where do I park for The Den?

Parking is free but there is not much of it: a small lot at Wolfsmiths plus street spots on Woodard and the side streets off Fulton. Both fill early on Friday and Saturday. Arrive before doors, or have your rideshare drop you at the Wolfsmiths front door. Our parking guide compares every Houston comedy club if you are weighing options.

Is the room upstairs?

Yes. The club is on the second floor of Wolfsmiths and you reach it by the stairs inside the building. If stairs are a concern for anyone in your group, email the club before you book so they can tell you what they can do.

Who performs at The Den?

Thursday through Saturday it is Houston’s working comics, the ones who headline the city’s best rooms and open for the touring names at the big clubs, with a visiting comic mixed in most weeks. On top of that, the club books touring headliners for their own dates. The calendar below is the lineup, updated twice a day.

Can I book The Den for a private event?

Yes. The club hosts group events and private comedy shows. Email hello@thedencomedyclub.com with your date and headcount.
