Here is where to put your car for every major comedy room in greater Houston.
The free ones: park and walk in
Houston Improv, 7620 Katy Freeway, sits inside the Marq*E Entertainment Center, and parking there is complimentary. The club’s own info page points you behind the venue and throughout the center, and specifically recommends the parking garage, open up to the 4th floor. Take that advice on Friday and Saturday nights: the surface lot serves a movie megaplex, a gym, and a row of restaurants, so spots near the red marquee vanish early while the garage stays reliable. ComedySportz Houston plays The Good Friend Theater at 8301 Jones Road in northwest Houston. It is a suburban shopping-center lot, free, at the door. This is the easiest parking of any comedy venue in the city.
The Riot in Conroe runs upstairs at GuadalaHARRY’s, 219 Simonton St on the downtown Conroe square. Street spots line every direction, with a two hour limit on weekday daytimes and free parking on weekends, and a free public multi-level garage sits on Simonton essentially across the street. The Den Comedy Club hides on the second floor of Wolfsmiths at 201 Woodard St in Lindale Park. Parking is free but modest: a small lot at Wolfsmiths plus neighborhood street spots on Woodard and the Fulton side streets, and both fill quickly on Friday and Saturday. Arrive early or have your rideshare drop you at the Wolfsmiths front door, then follow the white orchids inside to the secret entrance.
Downtown: budget ten to fifteen dollars
Punch Line Houston lives inside GreenStreet at 1204 Caroline St, near Toyota Center. The venue-recommended move is the GreenStreet Garage, entrance on Clay between Main and Fannin, with a flat 10 dollars covering your whole evening after 4 PM and on weekends, and a skybridge walking you straight into the complex. Valet runs at most shows through GreenStreet. On Rockets nights the nearby garages flip to event pricing and fill, so those evenings reward pre-booking a spot. The Pink Flamingo, the new three-floor club in a 1908 former silent movie theater at 1008 Prairie St, has no parking of its own. The One Market Square Garage at 898 Prairie is about a block away with rates starting around 13 dollars, and the Main Street Square rail station sits two blocks off if you would rather skip driving downtown entirely.
The two that break the pattern
The Secret Group in EaDo at 2101 Polk St is friendlier than its downtown-adjacent address suggests. Per the venue’s own FAQ, the surrounding street parking is metered but free after 6 PM, which covers nearly every show. The same FAQ suggests the monitored pay lots, typically 10 to 20 dollars, over hunting a free spot a couple of blocks away, and warns that rates climb on big event nights. The Riot Comedy Club moved into its brand-new home at 1925 Washington Ave in August 2026, a purpose-built 150-seat room next to Julep, so ignore any old parking advice about the Rudyard’s location in Montrose. The new building advertises ample on-site parking. One caution for the street parkers: Washington Avenue sits inside a city parking benefit district where meters run Thursday through Sunday from 6 PM to 2 AM, which is exactly comedy hours, so the club’s own parking beats gambling on the curb. Don’t Tell Comedy sells you a neighborhood, not an address. The secret location lands in your inbox by 8 AM on show day, and that email includes the parking details along with BYOB status. Around Houston the host venues run from Katy to Kingwood to The Woodlands, mostly breweries, restaurants, and bars with their own lots, so suburban shows usually park easy. The venue type printed on your ticket page is the best predictor before the reveal, and Rice Village is the one neighborhood where you should expect garage or street parking instead.
