Tommy Davidson’s Energetic Return to Houston Improv: A Comedy Night Not to Miss

Tommy Davidson

Before he voiced Oscar Proud or lit up “In Living Color,” Tommy Davidson was Anthony Reed from Washington, D.C. Adopted by a white family during the civil rights era, his comedy reflects a unique, insightful perspective.

Davidson’s act blends impressions, musical parodies, and sharp cultural insights. His style, reminiscent of Eddie Murphy, has captivated audiences since 1984. Whether tackling race or family, Davidson delivers high-energy, engaging performances.

Television roles in “The Proud Family” and “Malcolm & Eddie” made him a household name, but his live shows reveal the unpredictability and intimacy screens can’t capture. The Houston Improv offers the perfect stage for his dynamic comedy.

Davidson’s Houston appearance is part of a tour that includes Goodnights Comedy Club in Raleigh, NC, from July 10-12, 2026. It’s a rare chance to see a comedian whose decades-long career continues to evolve.
