Gauri B

On July 3, 2026, the NYC South Asian Comedy Festival announced Gauri B as a headliner for its October 16–18 festival in New York.

Gauri B grew up in Punjab and moved to Germany at 21 for an architecture internship during her final year of a Bachelor of Architecture. At a women’s-empowerment workshop, an impromptu speaking exercise became her first five-minute stand-up bit, according to a Missing Perspectives interview. The comedian hosting told her to keep going.

Her material takes on gender, race, sex-positivity, privilege, politics, and trauma. It is dark and personal. “I don’t want a joke to just be a joke,” she has said. “I’m using it as a platform to voice my own opinions and just talk about the society that we live in and how it impacts the minorities.”

That carries into Love, Money, Shame, the live show she discussed with Indulge Express: “Love, money, and shame are universal themes that everyone can relate to, and I explore them through comedy in a way that’s a little bit reflective and a little bit irreverent.”

Gauri B plays White Oak Music Hall – Upstairs on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Get Tickets.
